Fall is a perfect time to ride in Northern California, so don't miss the last two IMBA Wild Rides of 2003. On October 25th and 26th pedal Mill Creek and other trails just southwest of Lassen Park in the Ishi Proposed Wilderness. This area is an hour or so east of Chico and camping is available for people wanting to spend the entire weekend. On December 6th, the final Wild Ride takes place at Feather Falls near Lake Oroville. The ride is only nine miles, but you get to see one of the tallest waterfalls in California. After the ride there will be a barbeque at Lake Oroville. For more information on Wild Rides and California Wilderness visit imba.com.
In Santa Barbara, California, the Santa Barbara Mountain Bike Trail Volunteers (SBMTV) is hosting a series of monthly trail maintenance events. Although mountain bike access has recently faced opposition in Santa Barbara, local advocates continue to work with the Los Padres National Forest to improve the trails for all users.
