Above-and-Beyond corporate supporter SRAM increased its this year. In addition to continuing as a lead sponsor of IMBA's kids cycling program, Sprockids, the company recently hosted an IMBA board of directors meeting at their headquarters in Chicago. The two-day event included a reception for local donors and advocates. More than 100 Chicagoans attended the party to socialize, network and hear remarks from SRAM president, Stan Day and IMBA executive director Tim Blumenthal. Many thanks to SRAM for their hospitality!
Corporate member Kenda USA is raising money for mountain bike advocacy through the production of an IMBA Long Live Long Rides tire. The Kenda Klaw XT is an aggressive knobby tire for technical cross-country and loose-condition riding. It features a folding bead and wide-spaced knobs and is emblazoned with the IMBA Long Live Long Rides logo. For every tire sold, Kenda is donating $2 to IMBA. Look for them at your local mountain bike retailer.
Special thanks go out to K2 Bike for implementing an IMBA membership drive on their website. Through the program, K2 offers a discounted membership and a free IMBA T-shirt. For more info, visit K2bike.com.
Mountain bike outfitter and IMBA supporter Outpost Wilderness Adventure raises mountain bike advocacy awareness among its trip participants each year. The company educates its mountain bike clients about IMBA's work on each excursion and asks participants to donate to the cause. During the past two years, the company has raised an additional $3,000 for IMBA.
