Matson Hill Trail
Defiance, Missouri
Length: 3 Miles

This newly constructed trail is the first phase of a system that will eventually yield 15 miles of new singletrack near St. Louis. The IMBA affiliate Gateway Off-Road Cyclists (GORC) worked with the St. Charles County to design and construct this trail. With GORC's volunteer support, the trail was built at no cost to the parks department. More info: www.kellerhayes.com/gorc

Garman Park
Decatur, Illinois
Length: 4.5 Miles

This wooded and gently rolling singletrack is a great place to go for a quick spin after work. IMBA affiliate Central Illinois Mountain Bike Association worked with the Decatur Park District for permission to build the trail, which opened for use in November 2002. The lease agreement for the land was signed on the hood of a Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew car. More info: www.cimba.org

Montgomery Bell Park
Dickson, Tennessee
Length: 12.5 Miles

This new trail features quick, twisty singletrack on rolling hills. IMBA affiliate Harpeth River Bike Club worked with Tennessee State Parks to "hammer out some truly good mountain bike trails," according to IMBA Tennessee rep Sam Poyner. The club and state parks also used volunteer labor and matching funds to build a trailhead parking lot. More info:

Estell Manor Park
Landing, New Jersey
Length: 6 Miles

The IMBA affiliate Atlantic County Trail Volunteers (ACTV) completed this loop trail near Atlantic City in 2002 after more than four years of construction. The club will finish the project this year, including posting signage and regular maintenance. ACTV has plans for future trail development, so check out www.geocites.com/actv03 for the latest information.
