Early Summer 2003

IMBA United Kingdom made its public debut the first weekend of April at the Coed-y-Brenin mountain bike festival in Wales. IMBA-UK has produced membership materials, established concrete 2003 goals and formed a well-organized steering committee to guide their progress. For more info on IMBA-UK email .

IMBA Trail Solutions leader Joey Klein spent two weeks in April working in Northern Ireland, a country that has almost no legal trail access for mountain bikers. Joey taught two IMBA Trailbuilding Schools and gave a presentation to 150 land managers and national recreation leaders at a major Countryside Recreation Conference. Joey also led the first-ever Forest Service mountain bike trail construction project in Northern Ireland at Belvoir Forest near the capital city Belfast. For more info, contact IMBA Northern Ireland liaison Clare Wright at .

IMBA's second-ever IMBA Epic celebration in Canada will take place June 14-15 at the Mansfield Outdoor Center in Alliston, Ontario. We'll celebrate the Epic designation with a two-day trailwork/riding event co-promoted by the MAMBO Kings mountain bike club. The public is invited. For more info visit www.imba.com/epics.

IMBA is accepting Canadian membership payments at par this year, allowing Canadian mountain bikers to save close to 30 percent on the annual cost of IMBA membership.
