The Minnesota Off Road Cyclists (MORC), led by club president Dale Gundberg and IMBA rep Tim Wegner, recently completed construction of five miles of new singletrack in Lebanon Hill Regional Park in Eagan, Minnesota. The new trail offers options for all skill levels, including a one mile beginner loop and intermediate and expert sections with log crossings and technical rock gardens. More info www.morcmtb.org.

In response to the trend in mountain biking towards more technical trails, the Michigan Mountain Bike Association (MMBA) created a freeride resource section on their website. You can check it out at www.mmba.org/library.htm#freeride MMBA is also creating a resource document for property owners and land managers who are concerned about trail liability. As part of their efforts to support freeriding, MMBA submitted a proposal for a technical skills park at Novi North Park, also referred to as the "Tree Farm."

On a sad note, one of the founding members of the Nebraska IMBA affiliate Trails Have Our Respect, Anthony "Tony" Naikelis suffered a fatal heart attack August 11th while swimming near Ashland, Nebraska. A memorial ride was held at Lewis and Clark Park on trails he helped design and build. Our thoughts go out to Tony's family and friends.
